From Scrap to Treasure
In this activity you will learn how to repair items, rather than purchasing new ones. Let’s see what treasures we can create out of trash!
Some additional group activities to do with your class:
Have the students go in pairs or small groups into their community to conduct an interview with someone they know who is good at repairing items. Once the interviews are conducted, have the class share their answers to the questions in the community interview sheet. Then have a class discussion about what they learned from these people and their impact on the community.
Hold a Repair Café Day or include a table in a Health and Wellness Fair. Invite community members with repair skills and those with items in need of repair. Take pictures of people working on repairs and the end result!
