Recycled Art Projects
In this activity you will create an amazing new item from reused objects found around your house.
Overview
Activity
- Gather safe, used items from around your house that would either be recycled or thrown out.
- Brainstorm with your class or your family. What can you make with these items? Something useful? Something to play with? An art piece to share? Get creative!
- Grades PreK/K/1 and Grades 2-3 should ask an adult to help if doing this at home
Suggested Materials
- Glue
- Scissors or box cutter
- Tape
- Paint
- Markers
- Pencil
- Needle and thread
- Used items such as:
- Egg cartons (cardboard or styrofoam)
- Toilet paper or paper towel rolls
- Cardboard boxes
- Old torn clothing or scrap material
- Scrap wood
- Clean jars and/or cans
- Scrap paper from another project
- Used wrapping paper
